You think I have forgotten you?
then guess again, my Dear.
The nuances and furtive moments
so tender, yet fleeting I fear.
I cry out your name in my darkest of darkness
the tears at unpredictable times
choke in my throat, prompt me to write
such sweet and painful rhymes.
Your body pressed close to mine at night
….the day’s last audible sigh.
I miss you, so – love’s deepest hurt
Once here, you’re gone now, but lie –
In my heart, in my mind, in my body and soul
I breathe your image into words
Committed to paper, and then set free
to soar all Eternity on the winged birds.
To have loved you and lost you
for all the unknown reasons
The feelings my mind holds
are there through all seasons.
No one can take you away from me,
No! Not ever! your memory I’ll chase
Through rivers and mountains, on beaches I search
My gaze on the heavens, lost in outer space.
You’re gone, there’s a hole
I’ll never again fill
Your memory I’ll be chasing
for you, I’m waiting still….
This poem was written for and is
dedicated to all of the living beings that
have been ripped from my life….without a trace, or explanation that
makes any sense. I just have to say I miss you, and you meant the
world to me.
