How Does a Man Know?
How does a man know….what’s in his heart….
when it’s been so full, and yanked apart?
What does his want to assuage the pain,
to start anew, and hopefully gain –
…..a new part of his life, so fresh and green
so hopeful and fun and loving to be seen
by others who love the Giver of love
who gaze down on him from above –
The sadness is passing to a faded thought
“Try I must,” says he, “live Life, I ought.”
So much to make up and take up and break up
and tie up and sigh over and cry over and reach for…
that how does he know when his time has come
when thawing begins, and he’s no longer numb….
What’s it like to feel, really feel the world?
to know his heart will not be hurled
to a wall with force to silence its beating
where likelihood of life is somewhat fleeting
Yet the wall has a crack where sprouts a flower
growing through the wall with all the power . . .
Of a determination so strong and pure and blessed
with a love so long and sure with zest.
As his feelings he feels and with caution relates
to those who would care to see on the wall
a flower clinging to Faith, never
daring to fall.

This poem is dedicated to all the men who have been deeply hurt by a love in
their life. Men struggle to heal from the hurts of love....I have seen it all my
life. As they feel their way to show their love, they are unequipped
to handle their
disappointments in love.
