“HE”

He call her “chicken”,

an endearing term to quicken—

the love to grow;

to be later stricken.

He never called her.

But he did lure

her all the more,

there was no cure.

He called her drunk,

yet he was a hunk.

She stooped so low—

into depths she sunk.

He called her “whore”,

and hated her…he swore.

But he’s gone, thank God,

--that pain is no more.

He called her “honey”,

which was rather funny—

he used it with all,

so sweet, and runny…

He called her “baby”,

and she thought that maybe

something was growing into

more than just play.  He

called her “child of God”

His staff and rod

did comfort her.

and with a nod…

made His presence known.

And she was shown

a love so true.

His Infinite Own.
