Gentle Rider

The lonely cowboy has the need to be free-

The solace, his passion underneath may always be----

I know birds, I know waves

I know people who are slaves…

I’ll soar the sky, oar ‘cross the sea…

bleed from chains on bended knee.

-------------------------------------------------------

Refrain:

Know the highway, dear Rider, stretching out and

rushing at you…

Its journey beckons you in peaceful miles,

I will smile and always know

 let a Gentle Rider go…

--------------------------------------------------------

The road is hard, the wind is free,

this face of sadness cannot see

The race is run, but never won… you’ve just begun—

your cares aside, without a word

you must attempt of one accord……

(Refrain)

On, and on and on and on

Tension melts and soon is gone

Comes the gray, to go away

Know you’re missing her…

the simple life---is now a blur.

(Refrain)

Home he comes, relieved from strain

the cares are small, but do not wane…

Your song won’t stall, give it your all.

and I’ll take your hand again.

(Refrain)

Gentle Rider….don’t forget me……. (Spoken in a whisper)
